Globally Exclusive High-End Medical Device Project Lands in Chengdu as Western China’s First Medical Device CDMO Platform Is Unveiled

On the morning of July 8, the highly anticipated Israeli innovative medical device project TroClose 1200, a globally leading automatic puncture and suturing device, officially established its R&D center in Chengdu, China. At the same time, Sichuan Innovation Technology Co., Ltd., the first medical device CDMO platform in western China, was officially unveiled, marking a new stage of development for the medical device industry in western China.

At the ceremony, Mr. Zhao Lin, CEO of Qingdao Lujian Health Technology Co., Ltd., joined Mr. Zvi Peer, CEO of Gordian Surgical, Mr. He Li, CEO of Spheres Ventures, Mrs. Sapir Bettan, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of Israel in Chengdu, and Mr. Yang Anshun, head of the CDMO platform, on stage to witness this historic moment of cooperation.

Mr. Zhao Lin first expressed sincere gratitude to the guests and gave a detailed introduction to Qingdao Lujian Health Technology Co., Ltd., as well as the background and vision of the event. He noted that Sichuan Innovation Technology Co., Ltd., as an R&D innovation platform, is not only the first medical device CDMO platform in western China compliant with U.S. FDA and China GMP standards, but also provides customized services for domestic medical enterprises, universities, and institutions, covering the full pathway from concept to compliant industrialization and market launch. It also offers Israeli and global partners a fast track for medical technology transformation and localization.

“The platform will provide one-stop services covering testing, clinical support, registration review, and small-scale trial production, offering tailored solutions for enterprises, accelerating product launch, and injecting strong momentum into innovation in the medical device industry,” Mr. Zhao emphasized. He added that the platform is designed to support enterprise growth, help companies achieve breakthroughs from zero to one, and enable China’s medical device industry to shine on the global stage.

In recent years, as R&D costs in the medical device industry have risen sharply and technology integration has accelerated, the CDMO model has become a preferred path for many enterprises due to its efficiency and cost-saving advantages. As an industry leader with more than 20 years of experience in medical technology, Qingdao Lujian Health Technology Co., Ltd. has successfully introduced and localized several international innovative products, including TroClose 1200, an automatic puncture and suturing device, and has obtained global exclusive manufacturing rights and exclusive sales rights in China. With its unique suturing function, the product addresses many challenges in laparoscopic surgery, providing surgeons with unprecedented convenience and safety. It represents a dual breakthrough in domestic substitution of globally leading technology and global export. At present, the project’s product series is being developed on the CDMO platform and has achieved fruitful results.

In their speeches, Mr. Zvi Peer, CEO of Israeli strategic partner Gordian Surgical Ltd., and Mr. Omri Hephner, CEO of Spheres Venture Ltd., jointly celebrated this milestone achievement. The event marks another deep collaboration between Gordian Surgical and Qingdao Lujian Health Technology Co., Ltd., demonstrating both parties’ firm commitment to advancing medical technology and innovation.

In her speech, Mrs. Sapir Bettan, Deputy Consul General of Israel in Chengdu, highly praised the significance of the event. She noted that it not only reflects the deep cooperation and close ties between China and Israel in medical technology, but also serves as a vivid example of both sides jointly promoting medical technology innovation and industrial upgrading. She said the cooperation represents another milestone in China-Israel collaboration in the broader healthcare sector, setting a new benchmark for comprehensive cooperation in healthcare and injecting new vitality into China’s medical industry. The Consulate General of Israel in Chengdu will provide full support and assistance for the cooperation between the two sides.

As a core city in the Chengdu-Chongqing urban cluster, Chengdu has long attached great importance to the development of biomedicine and high-end medical devices, including them among its key industrial chains for support. The successful unveiling of the medical device CDMO platform not only fills a gap in this field in Chengdu, but also provides a new engine for medical device innovation, development, validation, and market launch in Sichuan Province, across China, and beyond, supported by its professional R&D, manufacturing, and service capabilities.

After the ceremony, the participating representatives visited the CDMO platform’s R&D center for an in-depth tour. During the visit, they gained a detailed understanding of the platform’s experimental processes, technical capabilities, quality control system, and future development plans. They highly recognized the platform’s professional capabilities in the medical field and expressed expectations for future cooperation to jointly promote the continuous progress and development of the medical industry.
